Bookings open for Innova Crysta petrol. Deliveries from August

Toyota had launched the all-new Innova Crysta around two months ago and the MPV has already started to rack up good sales numbers for the company.  The Crysta is currently available in two diesel engine options (2.4-litre and 2.8-litre). Now, the manufacturer will be offering the MPV in a petrol variant as well.

Toyota dealers  have started accepting bookings for the petrol variant of the Crysta and the deliveries are expected to start from August.

The petrol variant of the Crysta will be powered by an in-line 4-cyl 2.7-litre unit that can churn out 164bhp at 5,200 rpm and 250Nm of torque at 4,000rpm mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

A petrol variant was also offered by Toyota in the previous generation Innova, but due to low sales figures, the Japanese manufacturer discontinued it soon after. After its official launch in India, the new engine will be introduced in other international markets as well.

When launched, the company will be able to sell the petrol fueled Crysta in states where registration of diesel vehicles powered by engines upward of 2,000cc is banned.
