Known as the daddy of all motorcycles, Harley-Davidson motorcycles remained constant throughout the ages even with the varying styles and trends. The signature sound of a Harley-Davidson's V-twin engine is so key to the motorcycle's appeal that the company actually tried to trademark its' bikes' exhaust note. But things are gonna change.

As per the reports by  Milwaukee Business Journal, the bike maker says that there will be an electric Harley within the next 5 years. Called the Project LiveWire, unveiled in 2014,  Wisconsin-based company gave media and customers go for test rides, but those bikes were never sold to the public and were never intended for a production run. Still, LiveWire's existence suggested Harley was pretty serious about exploring the notion of an EV motorcycle — and apparently, the customer response was positive.

Now there's no exact clue as to what this e-bike will entail, but it probably won't resemble the 2014-era LiveWire.

Powered by an electric motor and lithium-ion batteries, the LiveWire was capable of 0 to 100 in under four seconds and a top speed of nearly 160kmph — but the 89kmph range (53 in a high-performance mode) along with the 3.5-hour charging time made it a little less versatile than a traditional gasoline motorcycle.
