Hyundai Kona subcompact crossover teased. Hints front end design

Hyundai has revealed a new teaser of the upcoming Kona crossover. From the teaser shot it can be seen that the Kona features Hyundai's standard six-sided cascade grille and LED daytime running lights. The Kona will be revealed at the New York auto show in June this year.

To be noted, the thin lights up top are just the daytime running lights. The headlights are main lights placed on the lower deck- similar to the Jeep Cherokee.

The SUV will be positioned between the Tuscon and Creta and will compete with Toyota C-HR and Nissan Juke globally. The Kona may be powered by a turbocharged 1.0-liter and 1.4-liter petrol, and 1.6-liter diesel engines.

It is expected that Hyundai will launch the Kona in summer of 2017, however, there is no information when the sub-compact SUV will hit Indian shores. When launched in India, the Kona will take on Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki Brezza in its segment.
