Fazer 250-Yamaha FZ25 based fully faired motorcycle spied. October launch

Yamaha might launch its Fazer 250 in India around the festive season. The motorcycle has been spied multiple times in the past couple of months, suggesting the launch is just around the corner.

Yamaha Fazer 250 is based on the naked FZ25, which was launched earlier this year at a starting price of INR 1.2 lakh, ex-showroom.  The spy images of the new Yamaha Fazer 250 shows that the upcoming motorcycle will get dual tone shades, full-fairing and will share most of its components and design with the FZ25.

Powering the new Yamaha Fazer 250 will be a 250cc single cylinder engine, the same engine, which powers FZ25 in India. This fuel injected, air-cooled engine is mated to a six speed gearbox, and delivers peak power of 20.9 PS / 8000 rpm, and a peak torque of 20 Nm at 6000 rpm. These figures will more likely remain the same for Fazer 250.

The Yamaha Fazer 250 will use the diamond frame chassis, on which the FS25 is also based. The motorcycle will get a hydraulic single disc brake at both ends as well as telescopic fork up front and monocross swing-arm with adjustable preload at the rear. The upcoming Yamaha Fazer 250 will also feature LED headlamp and tail lamp, and digital instrumentation with fuel, clock, speedometer and fuel consumption display.

The two-wheeler manufacturer will also equip the Fazer 250 with split seats, alloy wheels, silver inserts on the exhaust and a single-piece handlebar. The safety features will consist of an optional ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) as most of its competitors are equipped with ABS. With the addition of fairing, it is expected the overall weight of the Fazer 250 will be more than the FZ25 by about 10 - 15 kilograms.
