TVS Apache RTR 200 4V launched. 200cc segment gets hotter !!

The Chennai-based manufacturer, TVS Motors, has finally launched the 200cc Apache with a starting price of Rs. 88,990 (ex-showroom Delhi). Dubbed the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V , the motorcycle takes on the likes of the KTM 200 Duke. No doubt, the competition in the 200cc space is about to get hotter.

The design of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is heavily inspired from the X-21 Draken concept showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V comes with sharp lines all across the body and looks every bit the street fighter. The bike incorporates LED DRL’s in the headlight assembly .

The motorcycle runs on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 90/90-17 (front) and 130/70-17 (rear) tyres made by Remora. Additionally, you also get Pirelli tyres as an option.

There is an additional safety of ABS which can be turned off by a flick of the switch.

The RTR 200 4V comes with split seat, pillion grab rails with LED taillamps and faux honeycomb grille on the side.

The RTR 200 4V is powered by a single cylinder, SOHC, four-valve, 197.75cc oil-cooled engine available in both carburetted and fuel-injected variants. The carburetted version pumps out 20.3bhp at 8,500 rpm, while the fuel-injected produces 21bhp at 8,500 rpm. Both, the carb and FI engines produces peak torque of 18.1 Nm at 7,000 rpm. Power transmission is via a 5-speed manual transmission.

The motorcycle achieves 0-100 kmph in the same time of 12 seconds. Kerb weight stands at 140 kg.
