Mahindra releases S101 teaser. Reveal on December 18

Mahindra has aired the teaser image of its S101 micro  SUV. The company will be officially unveiling the  SUV on 18 December.  The Mahindra S101 will be the third sub-4 meter vehicle to be launched by Mahindra, after the Quanto and TUV300,

The S101 looks more like a hatchback rather than a compact SUV. What we can see from the teaser is that the S101 is aggressively styled, gets lots of cuts, muscular character lines, sporty bumper and much more. The roof features three ribs. The S101 also features LED Daytime Running Lights.

The interesting part of the S101 will be its unique seating layout to accommodate six occupants (3+3), which means the front seat has a foldable middle section that can be dropped flat when not in use.

The S101 sits on an all-new monocoque platform and will feature a front wheel drive layout.  Powering the S101 is expected to be the new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine co-developed by SsangYong, and the  1.5 litre diesel unit from from the TUV300. Transmission options should include a 5-speed manual and an AMT.
