Hyundai Kona subcompact crossover teased. Hints front end design

Hyundai has revealed a new teaser of the upcoming Kona crossover. From the teaser shot it can be seen that the Kona features Hyundai's standard six-sided cascade grille and LED daytime running lights. The Kona will be revealed at the New York auto show in June this year.

To be noted, the thin lights up top are just the daytime running lights. The headlights are main lights placed on the lower deck- similar to the Jeep Cherokee.

Jeep Compass spied testing. Reveal cabin detail in new spy shots

The Jeep Compass was revealed last week and is an extremely important car for Jeep in India. Expected to be priced at under INR 20 lakh, the Compass will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500 and the Tata Hexa.

Recently, folks at Car and Bike spotted two test mules of Jeep Compass somewhere in Pune.

The test mules gave us few clues on what the production model could feature:

  • The variants caught testing here are Longitude and Limited

  • The Longitude will probably be the mid-variant on offer

  • The Limited will be the top-of-the-line variant

  • The base variant will be the Sport

  • The Limited variant features what looks like an 8.8 inch touchscreen infotainment system

  • The Longitude variant gets a smaller screen which doesn't exactly look like a touchscreen

  • The Jeep Compass features two engine options - the 1.4 litre petrol and the 2 litre diesel, but the one caught testing here was the 2.0 litre 4-cylinder turbocharged motor which will produce over 170 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque

  • Both cars which were being tested came with the 6-speed manual transmission

  • The Longitude was a 4x2 front wheel drive version while the Limited trim was an AWD

  • The Limited variant will get Jeep's terrain response system which has driving modes that include Snow, Sand and Rock options

  • The Jeep Compass will be launched in August 2017 but the production of the car will begin from June this year

  • In fact the company will be exporting the Compass to right hand drive markets like UK, South Africa, Japan among others

2018 Hyundai i20 facelift spied with new Cascade grille

The 2018 Hyundai i20 has been spotted on the outskirts of Chennai. The 2018 i20 gets styling tweaks in front which is in line with the latest Grand i10, recently launched refreshed Xcent and the Elantra.

The current-gen Hyundai i20 (Elite i20) has been on sale since 2014 and is next in line to receive a mid-cycle update. Hyundai does away with the two-part grille and in its place is a single, large 'Cascade' type grille. The headlamps seem more angular and the bumper has new inserts for fog lamps.

Moving on to the sides, the i20 is expected to look the same, except for new-design alloy wheels. The rear of the car is fully covered so the changes here could be even bigger. The i20 facelift is likely to continue with the same set of engines: the 1.2 petrol (MT only),  the 1.4-litre diesel (MT only) and the 1.4-litre petrol (AT only).
